About A Kandiah

A Kandiah, 77, died on September 23. He is best remembered as the 1977 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games bronze medalist, who ran barefoot with tape on is feet on the bitumen track at the Merdeka Stadium. At the time, he said he did so because he never felt comfortable wearing running shoes. He died within a week of his daughter, Shanti, who was also a competitive runner and also succumbed to Covid-19 infection. She was in her fifties.
