About Balan Palanisamy
Balan Palanisamy, 64, died on May 22, 2021. He was the veteran executive behind Southeast Asia film distribution house Suraya Filem, founded in 1983. Under his leadership, the distribution house "created cinematic history at the Malaysian box office", colleague Yow Kong Tung said. He is remembered for his love of golf and seafood, and his easy-going nature.
