Salwani Latiff, 36, died at Hospital Sungai Buloh, Selangor at 3 am on July 7, 2021. She was a daughter, a sister and friend. Before she was placed in a coma, Salwani asked her sister Suriati to care for their mother, Ramlah Sulong. Ramlah said Salwani was a very caring daughter. Even though they lived apart, Salwani would call her mother four times a day - before she left for work, in the afternoon, in the evening after she finished work and before she went to bed. She was unmarried and took care of all her mother's expenses. She sent her mother hand sanitisers and face masks, and advised her mother to stay indoors for fear of contracting the virus. Ramlah said Salwani was very careful about avoiding infection, but was unfortunately infected after contact with a colleague.
