About David Cheng
Pastor David Cheng of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kuching Sarawak was the first person to die of Covid-19 in Malaysia. The 60-year-old died at 11am, March 17, 2020 at the Sarawak General Hospital. He served as a pastor at the EBC since 1998. He was known for his musical abilities and released his debut album of 12 original songs, in 2011. He is survived by wife, Sim Lee Naa and a son and daughter. His wife and daughter were also infected.
