Mengenai Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid
Pengerusi Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia (IKIM), Tun Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, 82, meninggal dunia jam 1.40 pagi di Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Cheras pada 28 Ogos 2021. Bapa kepada lima orang anak yang dirawat selama 21 hari di unit rawatan rapi (ICU) akibat komplikasi Covid-19 itu mengalami masalah pernafasan empat hari sebelum menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya. Pemimpin yang dihormati ramai itu pernah berkhidmat sebagai Ketua Setiausaha Negara dari tahun 1990 hingga 1996. Ketua Setiausaha Negara, Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali menyifatkan Ahmad Sarji sebagai seorang tokoh pentadbir Perkhidmatan Awam yang amat disegani serta dihormati sewaktu dalam perkhidmatan.

Tun Ahmad Sarji was eminently qualified to hold the highest post of Chief Secretary cum Cabinet Secretary. He had served at the Federal, State & District levels & had intimate knowledge of Public Sector operations. He was meticulous in work as in disposition. A disciplinarian but very fair in his dealings with his peers and subordinates alike. Always remembered his humble background and never failed to appreciate and honour his mentors even after he was elevated to the highest public service office. He was the last person to hold the office of KSN with class and distinction. Condolences to Tun's Family.PRB | SIL
